FAQ

  • In person lactation consultations are held in my practice space located in 3073, Gümligen (just outside of Bern). Support people are welcome and parking is available.

Virtual consultations are available to those unable to travel to my practice location. Virtual consultations are held on my secure medical platform that exceeds the standards set out by all major data protection laws.

  • Some Swiss health insurance companies will only cover lactation consultations provided by specific health care professionals (nurse, midwife, doctor, etc), regardless of their level of lactation training. Please contact your insurance provider to enquire if they cover lactation consultations with an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). I am registered with the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (registry here) and the BSS Professional Association of Swiss Lactation Consultants.

I am able to accept some major insurance plans out of the United States of America. Please contact me for more information.

  • Initial consultations (both in-person and virtual) are CHF 200 and are 90 minutes in length. As breastfeeding challenges are often complex and require ongoing care, follow up consultations are available to established clients at the reduced rate of CHF 150. Please see my pricing page for additional information.

  • After confirming your appointment, I will send you an invoice to be paid electronically prior to our consultation. Please contact me to discuss alternative payment methods.

  • After your consultation is confirmed, you will receive an invitation to join my secure medical portal where there will be a few forms to complete (consents and a health history) electronically. Please have these forms completed at least 24 hours prior to our consultation. Having the paperwork done ahead of time allows us to maximize our appointment time together. As we will be working on feeding together, it is preferred that your baby is hungry (but not starving) and ready to eat during our consultation.

Please bring along anything you need to feed your baby (bottles, expressed milk, formula, nipple shield, etc). If you are pumping, please bring along your pump, tubing, flanges, and collection bottles. Having a list of questions/concerns can be helpful (new parent brain is a real thing!) to discuss as time allows.

Support people are always welcome, but in order to ensure you and your baby are the focus of my attention, please make alternative care arrangements for siblings.
